Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The 1(2H)-isoquinolone derivative of formulaI[n is 0 or 1; R is methyl or hydroxy (provided that n=1); R1 is H, lower alkyl (excluding the case of R=methyl), alkenyl or alkynyl; R2 is lower alkyl (excluding the case of R=methyl), alkenyl, alkynyl or bezyl] and its acid addition salt.
EXAMPLE: 2-(2-N,N-Diallylaminopropyl)-4-phenyl-1(2H)-isoquinolone maleic acid salt.
USE: It has antiulcer activity, gastric mucosa bloodstream increasing activity, hypotensive activity, analgesic activity, antihistaminic activity, antiacetyl-chlonergic activity, etc., and is useful as pharmaceuticals.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIis prepared by reacting the 2-halogenoalkyl- 1(2H)-isoquinolone derivative of formula II (X is halogen; R is methyl) with an amine in the presence of a catalyst e.g. copper powder at 120W160°C.
