Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve agitating effect of reactant and progress reaction smoothly by detaining both end parts of a starand of agitating chain for acceleration of reaction freely rotatably to the nonmovable parts on the outside of a rotary furnace extended with said chain, in said furnace. CONSTITUTION:In producing K2SO4 by charging KCl A and concd. sulfuric acid B of raw materials into a rotary furnace 1, these raw materials are heated in an external heat furnace 2 into which hot wind E is blown. A strand of chain 5 which is detained at both ends to the detaining parts 4 of the hood part 3 of the furnace and is in contact with the furnace bottom in the central part is installed in the furnace 1. The chain 5 is lifted by the rotation of the furnace 1, and when it goes to certain height, it falls by own-weight onto the bottom of the rotary furnace and by the motion thereof, the semimelt of high viscosity produced by reaction is effectively agitated, whereby the reaction is accelerated, the formation of scaling on the furnace walls is prevented and the operation of the rotary furnace is accomplished stably.
