Abstract

PURPOSE:To open and close a valve automatically by arranging the output shaft in meshing with a feed screw furnished on the working shaft, permitting this output shaft to move in screwing forward and backward in the axial direction of the working shaft, and by putting the torque and location sensing devices in engagement with the working shaft. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of the working shaft 4 in one direction by means of actuating the motor 11 will allow the output shaft 6 to rise and thereby heave the valve stem 7. When this output shaft 6 reaches the upper dead point, one of the limit switches, 41, of the location sensing device 26 is put into the other position to emit the signal to inform that the movement of the output shaft 6 has attained its utmost point, according to which a measure to stop the motor 11, and so on, is taken. If any external force applied to the valve element or stem, etc. checks the output shaft 6 from rising, the working shaft 4 is displaced elastically downward against the eccentric force of a spring 18. When this elastic displacement has attained its limit, a signal from the torque sensing mechanism 29 will stop the motor.
