Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermo-sensitive recording material which is provided with an excellent high-speed coloring characteristic and capable of being preserved for a long period of time, by providing a thermosensitive coloring layer, which contains diazo compound, coupler and heat-softable substance, on a paper supporting body of a paper manufactured at pH of 5-9. CONSTITUTION:Neutral sizing agent such as petroleum resin, styrene group resin, etc. and fixing agent such as polyamide, acrylamide, etc. are added to a pulp. Further, a paper reinforcing agent such as synthetic rubber, etc. and such a loading agent as kaolin, etc. is also added as required. A paper supporting body having surface pH of 5-9 is produced by the above-stated process. The surface of thus prepared supporting body is provided with a thermo-sensitive coloring layer which contains a diazo compound represented by formulasI-III (R1- R3, R6, R8 and R9 denote hydrogen, halogen and low-grade alkyl group, etc.; R4 and R5 denote low-grade alkyl group, etc.; R7 denotes trifluoromethyl group, etc.; M1-M3 denote acidic residue or acidic residue constituting metallic salt and double salt), such a coupler as fluoroglycine, etc. and heat-fusible or heat softenable substance.
