Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve recording precision and picture quality while managing with low-power driving motors by separately displacing a main and a subordinate carriage through two pulleys fitted to the motors of the X-axis and Y-axis systems of an XY plotter. CONSTITUTION:The X-axis and Y-axis systems of an XY plotter are constituted in symmetric similar shapes. For example, when a motor My rotates as shown by an arrow by the extent (y) of displacement in the Y-axis system, an auxiliary carriage 2 is displaced as shown by the arrow by a wire 38 extended around a small-diameter pulley 31b, and another auxiliary carriage 3 is also displaced as shown by the arrow by a wire 39 having one end fixed to the carriage. A wire 37 extended around a pulley 31a, on the other hand, displaces a main carriage 1 as shown by an arrow. The X-axis system operates similarly and the ratio of the extents of displacement of the main carriage 1 and auxiliary carriages 2 and 3 of both the systems is 1:1. Consequently, driving motors require only low power and recording precision and picture quality are improved.
