Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a speaker system by eliminating the need for a sound absorbing material while achieving reproduction down to a low frequency, by constituting a cabinet by using honeycomb structures each having a skin material stuck on only one side. CONSTITUTION:A cabinet consists of a baffle surface 1, a back surface 2, side surfaces 3 and 3, a top surface 4, and a bottom surface 5, and each surface is composed of a honeycomb structure 6 having the entire srface covered with a skin material 6a and a longitudinal, lateral, or slanting core material 6b stuck at right angles inside of the skin material 6a. Consequently, the internal capacity of this cabinet is greater than that of a cabinet of the same external size made of one plate, and while reproduction down to a low frequency is performed, the generation of a standing wave is prevented, eliminating the need for a sound absorbing material.
