Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deposition of a developer on a scraper by providing a scraper which scrapes off the developer after the end of development between the two magnetic poles of a magnetic field generating member in a sleeve by paralleling the top surface of its leading end to the direction of the magnetic lines of force of the magnetic field generating means. CONSTITUTION:A scraper 6 for scraping off of the developer is fitted to a rotatable sleeve 4 having a magnetic field generating means 11 fixed in its inside. The leading end of the scraper is provided between two magnetic poles S1, N3 and the top surface of the leading end is paralled roughly to the direction of the magnetic lines of force of the magnetic poles S1 and N3. The magnetic pole N3 of the magnetic force weaker than that of the magnetic pole S1 is preferable and that of the N3 in a 5-60% range of the S1 is effective. If it is <=5%, the scraping is carried out by gravity alone, and if it is >=60%, the developer is forced penetrating through the scraper.
