Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten an overall building period of a vessel by building a standardized engine room section of a hull under mass production and building the other section on order. CONSTITUTION:Since an engine room section 1 and a stern section 3 require a long period when a vessel is to be built, the engine room section 1 is standardized beforehand and is built under mass production. The other section 2 is built on order by a normal method. When both sections are finally connected together, adjusting blocks 5 are used to connect the shells smoothly. The overall building period of the hull can be shortened because it becomes unnecessary to consider the building period of the engine room section which has so far required a long period.
