Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten the efficiency of production of a bearing, by making a spiral oil supply groove on the inside surface of the hole of the bearing in molding the bearing of sintered alloy. CONSTITUTION:Powder to be sintered is put in a cavity defined by an upper and a lower vertically-movable molds 7, 8, a central mold 9 having a spiral protrusion 9a on the peripheral surface and a side mold 10. The upper mold 7 is moved down and the lower mold 8 is moved up while the central mold 9 is turned. The movement of these molds 7, 8, 9 is stopped when the cavity is set in the prescribed form of a bearing 11. The molds 7, 8, 9 are removed from the molded powder as the upper mold 7 is moved up, the lower one 8 is moved down and the central one 9 is turned. According to this method, an oil supply groove 11a is provided in molding the bearing 11 of sintered alloy, the diameter of the hole 11b of the bearing can be made small, the accuracy is heightened and the lifetime of a cutting tool is lengthened.
