Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a siphon forming apparatus used in a piping system of a thermoelectric power plant or the like, which is capable of preventing local overheating, by connecting the top of a siphon to a condenser for accomplishing initial air removal of the siphon simultaneously with rising of vacuum in the condenser. CONSTITUTION:The top of a siphon is connected to a condenser 2 via a valve 9 and a pipe 8 branched from a secondary pipe of a siphon breaker 6, so that air can be removed from the siphon simultaneously with rising of vacuum in the condenser 2 while feeding cooling water by opening a water filling valve 7. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to prevent local overheating and rising of the internal pressure of the condenser 2.
