Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst having high dust-abrasion resisting strength for removal of NOx by specifying the average particle sizes of catalytically active components in a base material contact layer and a waste gas contact layer, and providing laminated layers of specific conditions on the base material.
CONSTITUTION: In a catalyst for removal of NOx of which the essentail component of the catalytically active components is titanium oxide, the laminated layers of the catalytically active components which contain a base material contact layer having 1W10μ average grain sizes of the catalytically active components and a waste gas contact layer having 0.5W5μ average grain sizes of said components and of which the average grain sizes of the waste gas contact layer are smaller than the half of the average grain sizes of the base material contact layer are deposited on the surface of a base material. Then, the catalytically active components having high adhesive strength are obtained and the abrasion of the waste gas contact layer by dust is reduced.
