Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a video insertion recording function, by using one of two pairs of heads having different azimuth angles which are mounted on a VTR as a rotary erasing head and using the other pair as an insertion recording head respectively. CONSTITUTION:For instance, the video head (simply called head hereafter) having an azimuth angle (simply called angle hereafter) +6 deg. pluse the video heads 1b and 2b having an angle -6 deg. are mounted to a 4-head helical scan type VTR. With such VRT, the video track recorded with +6 deg. angle is erased by a wide head 2b with -6 deg. angle and then recorded by a narrow head 1a with -6 deg. angle when the VTR is inserted. On the contrary, the track recorded with -6 deg. angle is erased by a head 2a of +6 deg. angle and recorded by a head 1b of -6 deg. angle. Thus the azimuth of the insertion track 5 is equal to a recorded track and different from the adjacent erase track 6 as shown by a pattern diagram. In such a way, an insertion recording is made possible with continuous screens in high quality without adjacent disturbance.
