CONSTITUTION:An automatic answering telephone set 2 is connected to an idle subscriber terminal at a switch part 1 of a telephone switchboard containing an absence transfer function, and a means is provided for an optional telephone subscriber 3 to register a transfer connection to the idle terminal connected with the set 2. After this registration, an incoming call from an incoming trunk 4, and an intraoffice trunk 5 to a subscriber who has registered an absence transfer. As a result, several units of the set 2 can be shared with all subscribers stored in a switchboard, and a subscriber can freely have an originating at all times during the automatic answering service as a feature of the absence transfer function.
