Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten a measurement time by regarding the frequency of a forward-path measurement signal tone sent from an originating device to a terminating device and that of a backward-path measurement signal tone sent reversely as those at which signals pass through only the filters of the opposite sides, and measuring transmission-frequency characteristics by both the devices simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:As a forward-path measurement signal tone from an originating device MM to a terminating device SM, a signal with a frequency f1 from an oscillator 11b is selected and sent through a line 1. Then, this signal is led to a measuring instrument 24 through an LPF67b in the terminating device SM. On the other hand, a backward-path measurement signal tone with a frequency fm+1 from an oscillator 21b in the terminating device SM is sent through a line 7. This signal tone is led to a measuring instrument 14 through an HPF57b in the originating device MM. In this state, both the devices MM and SM perform measurement in the same time zone, thus measuring levels at frequencies by adequately varying the frequency for transmission.
