CONSTITUTION:A slope 4b is provided on a hammer 4 and a guiding slope 2d is provided on a support 2a of a supporting body opposing to the slope 4b. The position of the hammer 4 in the direction of arrow C is accurately determined by a hammer guide 7, etc. to be accurately positioned by means of a selecting shaft, etc. By the printing operation of the hammer 4 in the direction of arrow D, the slope 4b of the hammer 4 is caused to couple with the guiding slope 2d of the supporting body, and the supporting body (that is a type 1a) is accurately guided and positioned by them. Consequently, the type 1a is uniformly pressed with the pressing unit 4a of the hammer 4, and the alignment of printed characters 8 is improved.
