Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent ink from flowing backward and to improve the feed of the ink after it is discharged by providing not only the 1st pressure generating mechanism for discharging the ink but also the 2nd pressure generating mechanism for prevention against backward flow. CONSTITUTION:A discharging piezoelectric element 31 is fixed to a place equivalent to a pressure chamber 26 on a base and, in addition, piezoelectric element 32 for prevention against backward flow is provided at a place equivalent to an ink feeding chamber 28. At time t1, pulses are impressed to the piezoelectric element 32 and the volume in the ink supply chamber reduces but ink is not discharged. At the moment t2 when the pressure by the piezoelectric element 32 exerts an influence on pressure chamber 26, pulses are impressed on the discharging piezoelectric element 31 and ink is discharged. At time t3 pulses of piezoelectric element 31 are reduced to 0. The groove of nozzle 25 is narrower than that of connecting way 27 so that the ink flows from an inke feeding chamber 28. At time t4, pulses of the piezoelectric element 32 gradually are reduced to 0 and the ink is introduced from an ink inlet port 30 to the pressure chamber 26.
