Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the discharge of dust and cleaning of a clogged filter by a method wherein a pair of flat plate shaped filters which are opend wider upstream are joined into a cylindrical filter at their downstream ends, and a water-shielding body and spray nozzles are provided in a suitable manner.
CONSTITUTION: A fluid entering an fluid inlet port 42 of a drum is cleared of dusts when it passes through the filter 44, and is discharged as a clean fluid via a fluid outlet port 43. The dust trapped by the filter 44 is accumulated in a dust collecting cylinder 45 by the effects of a slanted surface configuration of the filter 44 and the flow of the fluid. Since the fluid in the cylinder 45 is kept stagnant by the water-shielding plate 49, even during the passage of the fluid, the accumulated dust will not adhere to the cylinder 45 and can be discharged easily via a drain pipe 60. Then, when the filter 44 is clogged with dust in progress of time, the feeding of the liquid is interrupted, an operating mechanism 50 for the water- shielding plate 49 is operated to open the plate 49, water is sprayed from nozzle holes 53b and is reflected by the plate 49, whereby the dust clogging the filter 44 is washed away upstream and is discharged via the drain pipe 60 together with the sprayed water.
