Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to detect temperatures accurately at all times by a method wherein an infrared ray detector adopted to detect infrared rays collected by a horn in the shape of funnel is provided in the captioned electronic range in which a high frequency output is controled by detecting the infrared rays radiating from a material to be heated.
CONSTITUTION: In case where the material is cooked by heating through a microelectric wave generated from a magnetron, the infrared rays radiating from the material are detected by the infrared ray detector 20 and the magnetron is controlled through a processing device in response to the output of the infrared ray detector 20. In this case, the infrared ray detector 20 is constructed such that the horn 27 is attached to a plate 25 provided on a ceiling 24 of the detector 20 so that the horn 27 blocks a hole 26 in the plate 25 and the detector 20 is fixed to the horn 27. Further, the horn 27 is formed of a synthetic resin member 30 having a truncated conical cavity spreading out downwardly like a funnel and a high frequency shielding member 31 comprising, for example, a metallic plating covering the entire surface of the horn member 30 and finished to a mirrorlike surface.
