Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve special reproduction having less noise by a helical scan type magnetic recording and reproducing device which has two magnetic heads differing in gap azimuth angle, by employing a movable structure for one magnetic head and varying the gap azimuth angle every time a different track is scanned. CONSTITUTION:Over a rotary disk 1 positioned by being sandwiched between a couple of upper and lower tape guide drums where a magnetic tape is loaded, a piezoelectric element 2 which constitutes a means of varying a gap azimuth angle by rotating a magnetic head 9, and a supporting member and a supporting plate 5 which support in a groove 6 a pedestal 7 mounting the magnetic head 9 are provided. In special reproduction, when the ratios of two adjacent tracks being scanned by the head 9 become nearly equal to obtain an output a half as great as a maximum output, a voltage is applied to the piezoelectric element 2 to rotate the pedestal 7, thereby equalizing the gap azimuth angle to that of the head which have recorded a track to be scanned.
