Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve work efficiency and productivity, in an adhesive applicator on a bead-carrying conveyer, by detecting a protector bead below a spray nozzle by a photoelectric detector, and controlling operation of the spray nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: Protector beads 2a-2c are set on the bead-receiving parts 19a- 19c of rack 5 at a set station X, and inserted into a space between the engaging clicks 29, 30 of a rack-shuttling means 6. Thereafter, the rack 5 is advanced. When its advancement is detected by a photoelectric detector S3, an adhesive is applied to the beads 2b, 2c by a nozzle 51. When the nozzle 51 is shifted stepwise to its retreat side by a signal from a limit swtich S1 and located above the metal 2a, a shuttling drive means 31 makes a backward movement to retreat the rack 5. When the retreat is detected by a photoelectric detector S4, the adhesive is applied to the bead 2a. When the rack 5 reaches another limit switch S2, the rack 5 is readvanced and a rising-falling chute 18 is inclined by a signal from the microswitch S1. Consequently, the rack 5 detaches from the engaging clicks 29, 30 due to its own weight and runs.
