Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize the outside diameter of the casing of a compressor and make it compact, by prescribing the outside diameter of a motor and a male and a female rotors, which are provided in the same casing, and the distance between the axes of the rotors. CONSTITUTION:The motor 2, a male rotor 3 and a female rotor 4 of an enclosed screw compressor are provided in its casing 1 so that the male rotor is driven coaxially with the motor. The outside diameter D of the motor 2, the outside diameter (d) of the male rotor 3 and the distance P between the axes of the rotors 3, 4 are related to each other as 0.85<(P+d/2)/(D/2)<1.5. If the ratio were less than 0.85, the outside diameter of the motor 2 would be predominant and the opposite side of the female rotor 4 would not efficiently be used. If the ratio were more than 1.5, the outside diameter of the female rotor 4 would be too large. Under said relationship, the outside diameter of the casing 1 is minimized so that the whole compressor is compact.
