CONSTITUTION:The Chinese characters having high using frequency are supplied directly by a Chinese key 21, and the signal is converted into a Chinese character code to be supplied to a character generator CG24. The CG24 produces a character pattern and displays it at a display part 26. The Chinese character code is stored in a sentence memory 25. When a KANA letter for KANA-Chinese character conversion is supplied by a key 22, this signal is converted into a code to be supplied to a dictionary memory 23. The memory 23 supplies successively the codes of the Chinese characters having the same sounds as the KANA letters into the CG24. The CG24 displays the character pattern corresponding to the code and the number corresponding to the Chinese character stored in the memory 23 at the part 26. When the operator supplies the number corresponding to the desired Chinese character through a keyboard, a CPU28 knows the Chinese character to be supplied from the number and stores the Chinese character code in the memory 25. The contents of the memory 25 are displayed at the part 26.
