Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to attain a target value of the set motion while improving the opeability by informing with a visual indicator and a buzzer sounding when the measured value of any information on motion reaches the target. CONSTITUTION:As a pedal 3 is turned in an exercise bicycle 1 with a measuring device 2 for quantity of motion, a friction wheel 6 is pressed against a tire 5. A magnet 7 mounted on the tire 5 and a Hall element 8 mounted on a frame composes a rotation sensor 9 to measure the revolutions of the tire 5 whereby a rotation pulse is obtained. A pulse sensor 10 formed on a handle grip 11 is composed of a light emitting body 12 and a light receiving body 13. Depending on the intensity in the flow of blood through a user's hand holding the grip, the level of reflection of light from the light emitting body 12 varies to increase or decrease the level of incident light to the light receiving body 13 thereby providing a pulse. Each pulse is supplied to a measuring apparatus 2 and when the number of pulses reaches the target, it is displayed with an indicator 14 while the motion time and the running range are displayed with an indicator 15. At the same time, a buzzer 24 is sounded and stops a specified time later.
