Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a picture ghost, by allotting the effective time to apply the voltage pulse to each group of the recording needle electrodes and applying the voltage pulse to each group and the control electrodes in the first half of the allotted effective time. CONSTITUTION:Recording needle electrodes R1-R24 are linearly distributed, and control electrodes C1-C5 and C1'-C5' are provided opposite to the electrodes R1-R24 as if said control electrodes interpose said recording needle electrodes. For instance, 6 recording needle electrodes R are set to a group and then divided into two groups A and B. Then the voltage pulse is applied to these groups A and B with different timings, and the voltage pulse is successively applied to the control electrodes C in the main scanning direction and synchronously with the application of the voltage pulse to the electrode R. In this case, two effective application times TA and TB are set to the groups A and B respectively. Thus the voltage pulse is applied to the groups A and B in the first half of the effective application time, and the voltage pulse is applied to the electrode C at the point near the second half of the effective time. As a result, the occurrence of a ghost caused by the electrostatic induction is prevented.
