PURPOSE:To make crane work safe by correcting the load detected with a load gage by the abrasion of a wire rope with an operator which calculates the correction factor corresponding to the change in rope diameter. CONSTITUTION:During load detection with a 3-point sheave type load gage 20, the side end part of an arm 24 is pressurized to the contactor 31 of a load cell 30 according to the tension T of a rope 12, and the load cell 30 detects the pressurizing force P by this arm 24 and outputs the signal corresponding to the tension T. A rope diameter detector 40 is disposed between the arm 24 and moving sheave 23 of te gage 20, and a bracket 41 is secured to the end of the shaft 23a of the sheave 23 by welding or the like. The distance between the brackets 41 and 45 changes according to the central distance of the sheaves 23 and a roller 43, and since the center distance thereof changes according to the diameter (d) of a wire rope 12, a rope diameter detector 40 is so constituted as to detect the rope diameter (d) by detecting the distance between the brackets 41 and 45. This tension T is applied to an operator 106, by which the rope diameter (d) is corrected.
