Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the number of lanes in a storage area by providing a rotary mechanism and a telescopic mechanism to a loader. CONSTITUTION:A supporting shaft 14 is retracted by a telescopic mechanism 18 for lifting a part 4, and a loader 10 is shifted along a rail 11 into a main production line 2. The supporting shaft 14 is extended by the telescopic mechanism 18 for setting the part 4 in a predetermined assembling position when the loader 10 comes to the assembling position of a body 1 on the main production line 2, and then supporting shaft 14 is retracted while a gripping means 16 release the part 4 after the completion of setting. The loader 10 is returned to the original angular position while the supporting shaft 14 is rotated by a rotary mechanism 17, and then is moved to a lane on which a part peculiar to a body model or specification is arranged, making provision for the next gripping operation. Then, a similar operation is carried out for gripping and transferring the next part.
