Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable smooth car start on steep slope by putting a side brake in the braking condition and loosening the braking force of the side brake at the speed corresponding to the incline in the fore and aft direction of the car at the time of car start. CONSTITUTION:One end of an acting wire 11 is connected to an acting lever 6 of a side brake 30 and the other end is connected to a rotating shaft 10 of a DC motor 9. A incline sensor 14 comprises a semi-circular frame 12 being fixed to a car body 5 in its fore and aft direction and having 5 contact points (a) to (e) and a weight 13a suspended from the center of said frame 12 via a rod having a contact point (e). The level of the voltage applied to the motor 9 is varied by the combination of the contact point of each switch corresponding to the degree of the inclination thereby loosening the braking force of the brake 30 in the speed corresponding to the inclination.
