Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent misalignment of a position when a separately prepared cap member is adapted and fixed by the method of resistance welding to the end part of a pipe member constituting a shock absorber main unit, by performing the above described resistance welding after inscribably fitting and positioning in an alignment state the cap member to the pipe member. CONSTITUTION:A separately prefabricated cap member 2 mounted to a car body side is adapted to the end part of a pipe member 1 constituting a damper cover or the like, and the members are mutually bound by the method of resistance welding in which a pair of electrodes A, B in their both outsides are electrically conducted to flow a current under pressure. In this case when the cap member 2 is mounted, an end face protruding part 3 integrally formed previously with said member 2 is inscribed, fitted and positioned in an alignment state to the pipe member 1, and then the above described resistance welding is performed. Then the protruding part 3 is formed to shape concentrically protruding with the end face of said member 2 and having an annular bottom face 4 peripherally hollowed, and the bottom face 4 is welded to the end face of the pipe member 1. In this way, misalignment of the cap member 2 can be prevented.
