Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cooking of food by discontinuation of updating of total cooking time of a microcomputer-controlled oven while cooking is interrupted and until the food is reheated up to a predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION:Operation of a cookery selection key and start key on a keyboard 7 makes total cooking time be set by calculating time required for food to reach a predetermined temperature and additional time to complete cooking. If the door is opened in process of cooking, a door switch 13 is turned on to input a low level signal into the microcomputer 5 so that output of microwaves stops and simultaneously updating of timing is discontinued. Upon the START switch being turned on again and the door switch 13 turned off, the microcomputer 5 proceeds with the program so as to heat up the food, but does not update the total cooking time until the food reaches a predetermined temperature. Updating of the total cooking time restarts only after the food becomes at the predetermined temperature. Provision of such a program permits improvement in cooking in case interruption of cooking takes place.
