CONSTITUTION:Photodiode arrays 2(2a, 2b) are placed, shifting from the center line of image sensor chips 1(1a, 1b) in the direction at right angles to the array direction of said arrays. Subsequently, the image sensors 1 are placed zigzag and the photodiode array 2a and 2b of each image sensor 1a and 1b of the first row and the second row are installed in the direction approaching each other, by which an interval d' of both the arrays becomes small, and an almost same line of an original is read at the same time. Accoddingly, a memory is not required.
