Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate easy replacement of abrasive heads by fixing an inserting piece at the end of a shaft and providing an inserting hole to the abrasive head so that the piece can be inserted into and removed from the hole of head. CONSTITUTION:An inserting piece 3 is fitted to the top end of a shaft 1 and fixed with adhesive applied. An inserting hole 4 is provided to the grinding stone 2 for the piece 3 to be fitted in, so that the grinding stone 2 is easily assembled to the shaft 1 by insering the piece 3 into the hole 4 of the grinding stone 2. This grinding tool is used by fixing the shaft 1 to the chuck of the grinding machine. The rotation of the grinding machine is transmitted from the shaft 1 to the grinding stone 2 through the piece 3 and the hole 4 which are intermeshed by means of their square cross sections. When the grindig stone 2 is worn or damaged, or otherwise replacement is required, the grinding stone can be easily removed from the piece 3 and a new grinding stone is inserted.
