Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled flame-retardant excellent in flame retardancy, compatibility, weather resistance and heat resistance and rearcely migrating within organic high-molecular materials, obtained by reacting a condensate of a halogenated phenol with a specified compound.
CONSTITUTION: A flame-retardant of the formula, wherein X1W5, Y1W4 and Z1W4 are each a 1W3C alkyl, H or a halogen, at least one of each of X1W5, Y1W4 and Z1W4 is a halogen, n is 1W100 and A is a (halo)alkyl, hydroxy(halo)alkyl, hydroxylalkyl(polyoxyalkylene) or (halo)alkenyl, is prepared by reacting a condensate of a halogenated phenol with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a (halo) alkyl halide, a hydroxy(halo)alkyl halide, a (halo) alkyl halide, a (halo)aralkyl halide, etc., in the presence of caustic alkali, etc. 2W 50wt% this flame retardant is added to an organic high-molecular material, e.g., PS, PE or PP.
