Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a grid for a lead acid battery which has excellent safe performance and battery performance by providing a lag near the center of the top surface of the grid, and thereby reducing the vibration to shocks of the plates of the battery, and preventing any sliding of the plates as well as any breakdown of the lags. CONSTITUTION:A slant lag 1 is provided on the center of the top surface of a grid 2. After grids 2 are packed with a positive and a negative active material, they are combined with separators 3 so that straps 5 and 5' of the lags 1 are located separately owing to the slants of the lags 1, thereby constituting a plate group 4. Owing to the above constitution, any short between the adjacent straps 5 and 5' can be prevented, the vibration to shocks of each plate is reduced, and any moving of the plates as well as any breakdown of the lags 1 can be prevented.
