Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the management of gratuitous goods, by providing a department, where the gratuitous sale of goods is possible, and a department, where the gratuitous sale of goods is impossible, in an ECR to manage not only ordinary goods but also gratuitous goods accurately. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 1 having numeric information input keys, by which numeric information of the quantity or the unit price of sale goods, and department keys, by which the code of a department to which goods belong is inputted, is connected to a CPU2 which controls the whole of an ECR. An ROM6, where various programs are set and stored, and an RAM5 including a quantity storage area, where the quantity of sale of goods is stored, and an identification information storage area, where identification information discriminating whether goods corresponding to this quantity storage area can be sold gratuitously or not is stored, are connected to the CPU2. When numeric information indicating gratuitous sale and the department code are inputted from the keyboard 1, identification information corresponding to the department code is discriminated by the CPU2; and if goods can be sold gratuitously, storage contents of the RAM5 are managed divisionally for onerous goods and gratuitous goods.
