Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a cleaning member of small size and maintain excellent quality of printing for long period by installing at a specific position the cleaning member for cleaning the print face of a dot head in an ink type wire dot printer. CONSTITUTION:A dot head printing face cleaning member is used which comprises a vessel 40 in which a cleaning pad 40 with a protrusion 40b is accommodated and which has a discharge tube 43 attached to itself. Desired printing is made on a recording paper 42 by a dot head 33 that is moved in the direction of the arrow B through a guide shafts 34 and 35. In said printer, at the position that corresponds to the position at which printing of the head 33 is expected the pad 40 of the said cleaning member is installed at a specified distance from the head 33. With this construction, when printing is started, the printing face of the head 33 is cleaned by the protrusion 40b of the pad 40, and surplus ink caught by the pad 40 and others are discharged through a tube 43.
