Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect a temperature controlling means of a gas rice cooker or the like against damages, by designing the gas rice cooker with a temperature detector such that the height at the upper end of the temperature detector is adjustable with respect to the upper surface of a trivet, so that it can be used irrespective of the configuration at the bottom of the gas appliance and also irrespective of whether temperature control is effected or not. CONSTITUTION:When a lever 5 is turned to the right, the top 5a of the lever 5 is turned to the left around a pin 7 and a temperature detector 3 is raised by means of a lever 9 to a position above the upper surface of a triver (no shown). When the lever 5 is turned to the left, on the other hand, the temperature detector 3 is lowered to a positioned lower than the upper surface of the trivet. A switch 8 is actuated by the movement of the lever 5 for effecting ON-OFF switching of a temperature controlling circuit in association with the ventical movement of the detector 3. With such an arrangement, when the temperature control is not necessary, the gas appliance is used with its temperature detector being retracted to its lower position. Further, by moving the detector 3 upward or downward appropriately to suit the bottom configuration of the gas appliance, it is enabled to control the temperature without damaging the detector 3.
