Abstract

PURPOSE:To make an easy, rapid and secure radar test without equipping a pseudo target signal generator, an antenna, etc., externally, by building in a radar device a test signal generating device which generates a pseudo target signal as set with prescribed constitution. CONSTITUTION:Variable attenuators 11, 13 and 14, 0/pi phase switches 15 and 16, etc., constituting a test signal generating device 21 built in a monopulse radar are controlled according to a target set through a console 9, a computer 20 and a controller 19. A test signal which corresponds to the distance of the set target is applied from an original oscillator 10 and the attenuator 11 to a coupler 3 of a range channel via a distributor 12. Angle signals which correspond to the set target are sent from the distributor 12 and passed through the attenuators 13 and 14, switches 15 and 16, and phase shifters 17 and 18 to obtain a bearing and an elevation angle signal, which are applied to couplers 4 and 5 of corresponding channels. Thus, the target is set freely and substantially without equipping a pseudo target setter, an antenna, etc., externally, and a test is made easily, rapidly and securely.
