Abstract
PURPOSE:To automatically prevent the inflow of flood containing large amounts of sand into waterway by providing a rotary drum having a blade, a water discharge regulating hole, and a water closing hole in a fixed drum. CONSTITUTION:During the flood period, incoming water flows into a rotary drum 2 in the state of a flood level 10 from the direction of arrow, whereupon the incoming water acts on a blade 3 to turn the rotary drum 2 and also the rotation of the drum 2 is stopped by a blade stopper. In the process, a water regulating hole 5 turns to gradually expand a water discharge hole 6 and thereby a large amount of excessive water is discharged. Also, as the rotary drum 2 turns, a water closing hole 7 is crossed with a waterway 8 to gradually reduce the area of the water passing hole and at last to close it fully. During the period, a water passing hole 7 is closed and increased excessive water is completely discharged through the water discharge hole 6. When the usual state of water comes after the flood, the rotary drum 2 is restored manually to the condition that it is when water is in the usual state.
