Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a device which can simply remove a ribbon even if the ribbon winds itsel round a feed roller, by a method wherein scrapers are formed in a projection in a spot located in the proximity of a ribbon feed roller, and a protection wall member is rotatably installed. CONSTITUTION:A feed roller 1 and a press roller 2 are placed so as to feed a ribbon 3 of a ribbon cartridge 8, attached to a carriage, into the cartridge 8. A first protection wall member 9 and a second protection wall member 10, situated above the member 9, are positioned in a spot positioned in the proximity of the roller 1, and the second protection wall member 10, whereon two divided scrapers 12a and 12b are formed in a projection to engage a flange 1a of the roller 1, is pivotally situated to the first protection wall member 9 through the aid of a pin 11. In case the ribbon 3 winds itself round the roller 1 owing to some reason, a knob 13 may be turned to rotate the member 10 in a direction of an arrow mark C in a manner to bring a press screw 13b of the knob 13 in engagement with a female screw 10b of the member 10.
