Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the catalyst having high catalytic effect at a low temp and excellent heat shock resistance, as the catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas, by using a fired body of a clay like substance consisting of lithium oxide, aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: As the catalyst for purifying exhaust gas, a fired body of a clay like substance consisting of 1W5wt% lithium oxide, 20wt% or more aluminum oxide and 60wt% or more silicon dioxide is used. If a platinum group element is carried on said catalyst body, the catalyst for purifying the exhaust gas is obtained. This catalyst body has high catalytic effect at a low temp and is excellent in heat shock resistance.
