Abstract

PURPOSE:To join yarns for sure in a yarn-joining device in which pressurized fluid is injected into a yarn-joining hole by applying an elastic member onto a yarn-inserting slit to close the opening of the slit while the fluid is injected from an injection nozzle. CONSTITUTION:When an unevenness is detected in a yarn by a detector 8, the yarn is cut and its winding is stopped. Two yarn ends are introduced into a yarn-joining device 12 by the first and the second suction arms 10 and 11. Yarn ends introduced into nozzle holes 53 and 54 by motions of yarn-drawing levers 28, 29, yarn-pushing levers 76 and 77 are drawn up into a yarn-joining hole 39, untwisted, and joined with each other by the work of pressurized fluid from a nozzle 48 of a yarn-joining member 19. At this stage, since the opening of a yarn-inserting slit 49 of the yarn-joining hole is closed by a rubber member 35, yarn ends are prevented from running out from the slit 49 as they are whirled by the injected fluid, and are joined for sure. Besides, a single fiber will not run out from yarn ends, and the strength of joining is also improved.
