Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled crosslinkable composition with high gel fraction giving a crosslinked product excellent in heat resistance, which comprises a modified propylene resin on which a silane compound having a hydrolyzable org. group as a crosslinkable group is grafted and a crosslinking catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: An ethylenically unsaturated silane compound of the formula (where R is an ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon or hydrocarboxy; R' is an aliph. saturated hydrocarbon ; Y is a hydrolyzable org. group; n is 0W2) is grafted on a polypropylene resin consisting of a copolymer comprising propylene and a 5W12C straight-chain or branched α-olefin and having one melt peak when measured with differential scanning calorimetry at 130°C or higher temp. when the α-olefin is of a straight chain type and at 145°C or higher temp. when the α-olefin is branched. Then the modified propylene resin obtd. is compounded with a silanol condensation catalyst to prepare the purpose composition.
