Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the mixture of noise into a signal line, and to realize the flexible transmission of a signal with high durability, by carrying out the transmission of an optical signal among a picture reading part, a picture signal processing part and a control part via optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:A signal connecting member 13 containing an LED11 and a photodetector 12 attached at the side face is fixed to the side wall opposite to a picture signal processing part 5 and a control part 6 of a picture reading part 4. An end of an optical fiber 14 for transmission of the picture signal is connected optically to the LED11, and at the same time a part of an optical fiber 15 for transmission of the control signal of the photodetector 12 is connected electrically to the LED respectively. The other end of each of these fibers 14 and 15 is connected optically to a photodetector 16 or an LED17 corresponding to the part 5 or a control part 6 via a connector. As a result, the picture signal and the control signal are transmitted with use of the optical signal between the parts 4 and 5 plus between the parts 4 and 6 respectively.
