Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent dissolving out of filler during processing such as cutting etc. by immersing a filler composed mainly of metallic powder and blended with 0.2- 3wt% swelling substances and 0.5-5wt% inorganic sodium silicate in >=60 deg.C warm water for 4-10min. CONSTITUTION:A filler wire is manufactured by immersing a filler composed mainly of metallic powder and blended with 0.2-3wt% one or more of swelling substances such as dextrin, sorbitol, sodium alginate etc. and 0.5-5wt% of inorganic sodium silicate in >=60 deg.C warm water for 4-10min. Then, the filler wire is cut to a straight core wire for covered rod having specified length with a cutter provided with a corrector. The filler does not flow out even when the end of the core wire is made open.
