Abstract
PURPOSE:To shut off heat rays by arranging a filter unit comprising plural adjacent pipes made of quartz glass between the high pressure mercury lamp of the ultraviolet irradiation apparatus and an object to be irradiated to simply transmit ultraviolet rays from said high pressure mercury lamp. CONSTITUTION:Between the high pressure mercury lamp 1 of the ultraviolet irradiation apparatus and the object 6 to be irradiated, the filter unit 5 comprising neighboring plural numbers of pipe like quartz glasses X and integrating the same by a clamp band is arranged. Because the filter unit 5 passes only ultraviolet rays and absorbs heat rays, affect to the object to be irradiated due to heat from the irradiation source is simply removed.
