CONSTITUTION:At recording, recording signals supplied from an input terminal 1R within an inversion period, i.e. inversion signals A, B, C, D, E are recorded on a guard band 4G of a magnetic tape 4, and at reproduction, the inversion signals A, B, C, D, E are outputted after a reproducing signal SF from a backward recording track 4F of the magnetic tape 4 to an output terminal 1P, and a signal SR reproduced from a backward recording track 4R of the magnetic tape 4 is outputted after them. With the constitution, completely continuous operation can be made without interrupting recording or reproduction.
