Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A microcapsule is prepared by forming a resin wall on a hydrophobic core substance in an aqueous medium containing a modified polyvinyl alcohol (modified PVA) containing cationic groups in the molecule by the polycondensation reaction of pref. an amino compound with an aldehyde or by the use of a combination of two kinds of colloid substances having opposite electrical charges. When the modified PVA contains one of the copolymer units of formulaIWformula IV (B is NR4R5 or group of formula VII; A is group connecting N of B group to N of amide group; X- is anion R1WR9, R11 and R12 are H or alkyl; R7WR9 may be phenyl; R10 and R13 are alkyl; the alkyl of R6 or R10 may have substitutent group), naturally, it exhibits cationic activity, and can be cationized stably and easily in an industrial scale.
