Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity f a memory, and also to prevent flickering of a picture, by storing only a low band component of a color signal in each color memory, weighting and adding the color signal storing the low band component, and generating a luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:Color signals of red, blue and green are obtained in order of the fields from an image pickup device 4. These signals are amplified in voltage by a pre-amplifier 9, and after that, are made to pass through a low-pass filter 10 in order to fetch a frequency band required for a color signal, and are stored in field memories 12R, 12B and 12G, respectively, through an analog switch 11. Subsequently, the red, blue and green signals are read out simultaneously and are supplied to a color encoder 20. The color signal of each memory is updated at every 3 fields, but becomes a continuous signal since it is read out simultaneously. On the other hand, these color signals are supplied to a matrix circuit 24 provided with resistances 21, 22 and 23, are weighted suitably and are added, by which a luminance signal is generated.
