Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce skid marks of steel materials considerably by installing walking beams near the boundary between a heating zone, and a soaking zone, and moving the walking beams forward, backward and vertically by means of oil pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Walking beams 1 are retreated by operating an oil hydraulic cylinder 28 and a bearing atand 9 is retreated with an oil hydraulic cylinder 12. A pinion 20 turns backward in a clockwise direction, and a revolving shaft 2 turns backward as well, thereby rotating a lever 3 backward. During this time, the steel material 5 placed on stationary beams 4 is received in the notched part of the lever 3 and while the material 5 is rotated, it is transferred by each prescribed distance. Thence an elevating cylinder 19 operates to move an elevating carriage 18 leftward, thereby moving the moving beams upward. A rack carriage 13 is moved leftward and downward by means of a link 17 and a stand 21 is moved leftward and downward. The shaft 2 are lowered by a prescribed distance by means of a rack 22 and the pinion 20, and is turned in a counterclockwise direction. During this time, the steel material is placed on the beams 1.
