CONSTITUTION:A 22% soln. of a strongly alkaline substance such as NaOH, Na2SO3, K2CO3 or Na2CO3 is added to an ordinary blended base coat soln. by about 5-20%, and the resulting soln. is applied to the base paper of substrate paper for electrophotography by about 5-8g/m<2>. Thus, even if acid side base paper made with no relatively expensive neutral size is used, substrate paper not causing discoloration, deterioration and fogging is obtd.
